What's The Point? [week 14] // Don't Waste Your Life
In week 14 of our study through Ecclesiastes, we're challenged to confront the reality of our mortality and the true meaning of life. The central message revolves around Ecclesiastes 9:1-10, where we're reminded that death comes to all, regardless of our righteousness or wickedness. But far from being a somber reflection, this realization becomes a catalyst for living life to the fullest. We're encouraged to 'eat our bread with joy' and 'drink our wine with a merry heart,' understanding that God has already approved what we do. This isn't a call to hedonism, but rather an invitation to find joy in the simple pleasures of life as gifts from God. The imagery of wearing white garments symbolizes our cleanliness in Christ, reminding us that no matter our past, we are made pure through His sacrifice. As we contemplate our own mortality, we're pushed to reassess our priorities, to enjoy our relationships, particularly marriage, and to make the most of every opportunity. This message challenges us to live intentionally, finding meaning and purpose not in the accumulation of wealth or achievements, but in our relationship with God and the people He's placed in our lives.
